The dodo or dodo bird was a flightless bird that lived on the island of Mauritius. For the first time navigators from Holland mention this bird, who arrived on the island at the end of the XVI century. A more detailed description was compiled in the XVII century. For a long time, some naturalists considered the Dodo to be a mythical creature, but in the end irrefutable evidence of its existence was found. Dodo birds died out due to the fact that they were easy prey for people and their pets because of their gullibility.
